Business and Labor Benefit from the Consortium
As we enter the new century, preparing the nation's workforce is more important than ever before. The PrepWork Consortium is working with business and labor partners, educators, students and parents to bring together classroom and workplace experiences.
Through Tech Prep courses and Skill Standards-based Curriculum Development Projects, employers experience:
- An increase in the pool of qualified applicants who can meet current and future workforce demands
- A reduction in the cost of employee recruitment, selection and training
- A strengthening of the links between work and learning as well as labor market supply and demand
- An enhancement of employee morale as it supports employees and parents and improves employer/employee relationships
- An enhancement of the company's reputation by positioning it on the important issues of education reform
